Cleaning Tips

Turn refrigerator off, unplug it and remove all food
bullet 
Remove all removable internal parts and wash with a detergent solution of 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda in one quart of warm water (hot water may crack glass or plastic parts, especially if they're still cold)

Clean the door gasket with the detergent solution
bullet 
Rinse and wipe dry all pieces to prevent spots
bullet 
Occasionally clean the freezer area according to the owner's manual instructions
Plastic parts should only be cleaned with the solution mentioned above. Never use:

Hot or boiling water--plastic parts may melt or soften
bullet 
Household chemicals (spray-on cleaners, waxes or bleach)
bullet 
Abrasives like scouring pads or powder
To clean the exterior of the cabinet, wash with a detergent solution, rinse and wipe dry. A creamy appliance wax may be used occasionally to protect painted exteriors.

Wipe up spills promptly and tightly wrap or cover stored foods to avoid staining and odors, especially from berries and other colored foods.

Occasionally vacuum or brush dust from condenser, usually under the front bottom grill. At the same time, wash plastic pan which collects water from automatic defrosting.
Another Use for the Refrigerator
Dry your shoes! Shoes banging around inside a dryer can break the fragile heating coils! Put wet shoes in front of your refrigerator's warm air expulsion vent (usually the left side) to dry them quickly.
